Glass fibre insulation is commonly used in conductors either as a woven tape wrapping or in the form of continuous glass filaments. It is recognized as a highly effective insulating material due to its excellent thermal endurance, reliable electrical performance, and strong resistance to wear and abrasion after varnish treatment. To enhance both dielectric performance and mechanical durability, the glass fibre covering is bonded with specialized insulating varnishes. Conductors insulated with glass fibre, whether bare or enamel-coated, are widely employed in the manufacture of electric motor stators, generators, high-voltage motors, specialty transformers, and heavy-duty magnetic coils.

This type of insulation is particularly suitable for applications requiring superior mechanical strength along with high electrical insulation properties. One of its major applications is in traction motors, where dependable performance under demanding operating conditions is essential. When impregnated with polyester, polyester-imide, or epoxy-based varnishes, these conductors can meet Class F and Class H insulation requirements while maintaining excellent thermal and mechanical stability.

For applications involving even higher operating temperatures, glass fibre-covered conductors can be treated with silicone-based resins, enabling them to achieve thermal Class 200 performance. Manufacturing is carried out using advanced high-speed fibre lapping systems equipped with double six-spindle technology, integrated varnish coating units, inline curing ovens, and automatic reeling equipment to ensure consistent quality and production efficiency.
